Bleary Day
Finally had time to get a haircut. It was a month overdue.
Took a few pictures along the way. I haven't been home for some time and quite a few things have changed. For example, many of those shophouses in the pictures have been converted to cafes.
After buying lunch back for my mum, I crashed out on the sofa till 7pm. One minute I was awake and the next, I was dead to the world. My body goes into this pseudo-shutdown mode occasionally (five times a year?) to help me catch up on all the sleep I have missed.
Time for me to have my lunch now.

The story is quite complicated.
Yi Xuan's character is called Lin Yue Ru, the only child of one of Jiang Hu world's most important figure. She's headstrong and stubborn, and never afraid of using force in solving problems. Her father want her to get married so his family would have a heir (what he wanted is so-called "ru zhui", where the husband take the wife's family name, so are their children). But she don't like those men she met, her father decided to open a martial arts tournament, and the man who defeated Yue Ru will marry her.
The main character in the story, Li Xiao Yao (who had a rather unpleasant encounter with Yue Ru before) , had joined the tournament by accident and defeat Yue Ru. He never intended to marry her, but Yue Ru's father wanted to force the marriage. There was a girl called Zhao Ling'er (played by Liu Yi Fei in the TV adaptation) travelling with Li Xiao Yao. It seems there's something happend between them in the past, but LXY had lost about two day's memory, and couldn't remember what. Zhao Ling'er clearly loves the boy but wouldn't say much about their past. LXY always worried he had wronged the girl and hence very protective of her, but he didn't go as as far as loving her, it's more out of some sense of duty.
After LXY and Yue Ru's marriage was announced (but not yet carried out) , Zhao Ling'er left Lin's mansion unexpectedly and in a most dramatic fashion. Some of the servents talked about witnessing a 'snake demon'. LXY went to find Ling'er, and Yue Ru (who already began to like LXY) decided to go with him.
They went throught many, many adventures together, and naturally love developed between the two. It turned out Zhao Ling'er was the 'snake demon', and she's been captured by the Grandmaster of Zu Mountain, who considered her to be a threat to the humanity and imprison her in a tower on Mt.Zu. LXY decided to go into the tower to rescue her. He asked Yue Ru to waited outside, but she insisted on accompanying him. Then LXY promised after freeing Ling'er (so he's done his duty), them two (himself and Yue Ru) together will visit all wonderful places and taste all delicious gourmet until they're too old to carry on (that's, of course, in fact a promise to marry her). But after they fought through the guradians and finally approaches Ling'er, LXY's memory of those two lost days had magically returned to him, and he recalled how he and Ling'er met and married in one day and they've slept together for a night (why all those happened is another complicated story). After Ling'er was freed, the tower began to collapse. LXY and Ling'er was knocked unconscious. Yue Ru pulled them to a place of safety, but after that herself was crashed by falling stones and died.
The above is the plot on Lin Yue Ru in the original computer game, in the TV adaptation they've changed the plot so Li Xiao Yao still loves Ling'er even after lost his memory, and it became unclearly whether he loved Yue Ru (that's one of the reason I don't quite like the TV version.). Also in the game, Yue Ru's death is more accidental, on TV she consciously decided to die for LXY and Ling'er (another place I don't like the TV version). Anyway, the last few screencaps I posted at the beginning of the thread is from where Yue Ru is about to die, and saying her finally words, "I'd never expect I'm already that old", which is a reference to the promise LXY and she made earilier (together they will visit all wonderful places and taste all delicious gourmet until they're too old to carry on). It's not in the game, but I have to say I'm moved.
